Final Fantasy Dimensions

2010 · mobile · a deliberate throwback to the Super Famicom era

Final Fantasy Dimensions was made for phones in 2010, and made to look and play like 1994. Pixel art, a classic job system, crystals, and a party split early on between Warriors of Light and Warriors of Darkness, two groups whose chapters alternate until the story brings them back together.

The split structure is the reason its cast is larger than a mobile side-entry would suggest: it effectively runs two parties, each with their own arc, before merging them.

It is one of the least-documented games in the roster, which is precisely why its data was rechecked against source rather than assumed. Several of its characters had wrong weapons and races before that pass.

This cast in the puzzles

Two full parties rather than one, so the roster carries an unusually even split of playable characters.
